Awesome Relationships and Spiritual Growth!

We had an amazing time yesterday! From the very start of the day in our staff meeting at 7:30 we were praying for walls to come down in the lives of the campers. We were praying that they would be open and receive all that God had for them and for overall spiritual growth and understanding in their lives.

We had our morning worship session with a powerful testimony from one of the German Camp Staffers followed by our English classes, which continue to go better and better everyday, both our teaching teams and the students are enjoying each session. Its amazing to see them learning English and the Gospel message at the same time!

After lunch, which was amazing, FISH, we played like a 3 hour long geo-caching game with several stations our teams had to perform different tasks at. The game took longer than planned so our Sexual Purity seminars got moved to this morning. The teams really had a blast and Josh R. and Israel played the role of "police" chasing everyone up and down the hills and through the forest, I tracked the distance on my phone, and my team alone covered over 5 miles on foot!

We had a little down time after the game just to hang out and fellowship before dinner and evening service. I played some basketball, winning my first and only international game of 2 on 2. I'm undefeated in international play 1-0. I like the way that sounds. I taught some of the campers how to play basketball and to shoot properly. Others on our team played soccer, football, Frisbee, or just hung out with the the kids and talked.

Dinner was FISH again!!! Yum, easily the best thing we've eaten while here, we all loved it...other than Josh W. who we made get a plate of fish anyway so we could eat it!

The big build up of the day was the evening service, there just seemed to be something in the air, an expectation of what God was going to do. I knew that I was slated to preach, but I felt like there was a good chance we were going to have something break out in the service long before I got the microphone, and break out it did! We must have been in worship for over 2 hours.
About 20 minutes in, without any prompting, leaders and teens were praying for one another on their knees, crying out, lifting one another up, and so much more. The very walls we had been praying to come down in their lives were shattered as the stepped into a new level of prayer, praise and worship! Me and a few others shared a few words with the entire camp and we went back into worship for quite some time before ending the service. Hands down this was one of the top 2 or 3 worship services I've been in within the last 10 years.

To cap the night off we had 'smores by the campfire "Americano" style as they say it here!

This morning we hit the ground running again as well with the Sexual Purity seminars.

We split the boys and girls up and had some great and deep discussions and teaching. We had some very very good one on one sessions afterwards as well, lots of questions and eagerness to learn.

An example question we talked about at length for a while, "if we have sex aren't we married? The bible says to just have sex with one woman." Questions like these and more fostered very beneficial and engaging discussions.

After the seminar time we went into English Classes which have progressed greatly from day 1 to day 4, its incredible. Much more talking and learning, writing and sharing, and using the Gospel to accomplish these things. After lunch we went to the refugee camp in the actual town of Pockau, we are about 15 minutes from there. I'll share about the AMAZING experiences we had while there today in my next blog which will be posted shortly after this one.

Blessings,
Ryan
