Week #6 on Prayer was GREAT looking forward to Week #7!

Make sure you hope on Butterfield's Facebook page and join the WednesdaysOnPurpose Week #7 event by clicking HERE!

Brother Black brought an awesome word this past Wednesday on Prayer, especially on the subject of intercessory prayer and the dedication we need to have when we pray. It isn't how long you pray, but it is the sincerity and fervency for which you pray with that matters most.

One scripture that I really wanted all of you to take hold of is this:"Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective." James 5:16

I will not be posting any notes this week as Bro. Black had handouts with all of the information he talked about, it was great material by the way that I suggest you hold onto.

This coming Wednesday I'm going to be talking about "Witnessing", "Evangelizing", and "Sharing Your Faith." This is going to be a session that culminates the teaching portion of our Class for WednesdaysOnPurpose, I feel that this is the perfect topic to end with. The concept of our class has been to educate and encourage each of you on how to live a Christian life and how to become a true disciple of Christ. The end goal of course in becoming a disciple of Christ is to go forward and make disciples....which is the heart of Witnessing and Ministering to others. Hopefully this final teaching session with help to equip you to communicate your faith in Jesus with confidence and without fear.

This will also be the basis for my next class to teach when we begin the next session of WednesdaysOnPurpose, my class will be Sharing Jesus Without Fear and I hope that those of you who are interested in further learning about witnessing and making disciples will join me.

Have a great Tuesday and Wednesday! I look forward to seeing you all Wednesday Night!

Living4Christ Week #5 Recap - AWESOME!

I don't know about you guys, but man oh man, did Bro. Black tear it up tonight @ WednesdaysOnPurpose in our class Living4Christ! I can promise you one thing...that's the last time I let him copy my notes :-) (just kidding he did it all on his own)

Brother Black did an outstanding job teaching our class about the 9 Spiritual Gifts found in 1 Corinthians 12!

I am going to go ahead and post my notes for the 3 different kinds of gifts we talked about in class. These are not the same notes we handed out in class, so please check these out, take the time to read and download them.

Another theme in addition to a repentant heart seems to be developing in our class sessions, that is to remember to test the spirits and desire to have a discerning heart and the gift of the discerning of spirits:"1 Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3 but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world." Click HERE to visit the verse.

If you guys have any requests for topics or questions for week #6 of our class please post in the comments section. Right now it looks like we are going to be focusing on Prayer; how to pray, when to pray, what is prayer, etc. If you have anything else you would like for us to touch on please chime in!

Class has really been going well and we have such a great group with great discussion. One thing we'd really like to see these next two weeks is for you guys to get involved in Evangelism and invite some new visitors to come to church on Sunday Morning or Night and of course on Wednesdays nights for our Class! Come on and get involved in spreading the Good News and helping the ministry of Butterfield Church grow in our community!
